Chatting last week with my agent and SAI Governor, Nick Marston, at the Curtis Brown offices.  Curtis Brown’s in-house production arm, Cuba Pictures, goes up a gear as they cement a production deal with the BBC.  They are filming the adaptation of Susanna Clark’s bestselling novel “Jonathon Strange & Mr Norrell” with Toby Haynes at the helm.  The (7×60) series is set during the Napoleonic Wars in an England where magic once existed and is about to return.

The deal brings sustained finance to Cuba Pictures and an opportunity for Nick and his producing partner, Tally Garner, to build product from their talent base of writers, actors and directors.  Watch out CAA!
